Houston and Southeast Texas got hit with some hard rain on 9-19-19. The remnants of Tropical Storm Imelda caused widespread damage from flooding. Some areas of Southeast Texas received over 30 inches of rain! TV meteorologist said that the computer programs they use didn’t even have an option for 30 inches of rain because it has never happened before. We got hit hard 2 years ago with Hurricane Harvey and many people just finished recovering from that storm. Imelda became a named storm from a system that the National Weather Service said only had a 20% chance of forming. It literally became a depression to a named storm as it was making landfall midday 9-18-19. Unsure what the total damage will be from this storm, but it seems as we are getting these landmark storms more frequently and it’s a cause for concern. This video was taken from my drone. I flew it after the rain had stopped to see the devastation in my immediate area.
