On September 20, 2019, students and activists held a strike to demand a more serious effort in the fight against climate change around the world. The day before, Houston was still being ravaged by the tropical storm Imelda, which flooded some areas with the same magnitude as Hurricane Harvey. Rescuers had to prioritize humans over animals. Water rushed over the roofs of houses and pets died in kennels. At the Climate strike, Imelda left the area parting with drenching rain. When videographer, Susan Beever, returned home after the event in Houston, a man at a store shared that he had not slept for two days. He had rescued 57 people and had returned home at 4 a.m., only to wake up again for work at 5 a.m. With these sufferings in mind, victims and observers stand together to fight climate change and spread awareness.
