…A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM EDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN MERCER…SOUTHERN SOMERSET AND WESTERN MIDDLESEX
COUNTIES…

At 1207 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Pennington, or 8 miles north of Trenton, moving
northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD…Tornado.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.

Locations impacted include…
New Brunswick, Somerset, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, North
Brunswick, Ewing, Middlesex, Princeton, Bound Brook, Manville,
Jamesburg, Cranbury, Pennington, Hopewell, Rocky Hill, Millstone,
Skillman, Princeton Meadows, Kingston and Dayton.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 10 and 13.
Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 68 and 73.
New Jersey Turnpike near exit 9.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night. Do not
